Panther Hollow is a part of Oakland in Schenley Park. Pittsburgh area was so much a wilderness and forest area that much wildlife roamed the area, as well as American Indians. The names of the three rivers upon whose fork Pittsburgh was founded are the Monongahela, The Allegheny, and THe Ohio. They are each indian words. Anyway, Panther Hollow got such a name because during the early years of settlers in the area, there was great hunting ground in what is now the Oakland area of Pittsburgh. Panthers roamed around in that area, representing one of the many dangers the early settlers faced.
I see using the named Paddington for a indie rock noise cover band.
A friend of mine and I spent a whole night on a camping trip trying to come up with the ultimate punk rock band name. We eventually settled upon Dick Pimples.
