What immature actions or viewpoints have characterized teenagers you know, recently?

For example I was riding the city bus one day and an elderly woman asked a teenage girl to move her extremely small purse so she could sit down on the crowed bus.(this was the only sit) available and the girl refused. Or teenagers behavior at the movies. A local theatre of mine was flooded because some teenagers got "bored".

I asked because I am fascinated by the distinction often made (or rather, NOT made) between immaturity and conformance. Of your cited examples, I'd agree the former is ludicrously immature, but the latter?

Further examples might be:

An adult taking his plate from the table and pacing in a circle around the table while eating and pleasantly conversing. Is this really 'harmful immaturity' or 'helpful nonconformance?' (helpful to him, unaffecting to the others)

Two teenagers playfully punching each other on a bus. If they're not jostling others or making obscenely loud noises, why should this be considered 'immature?'

I wonder if 'maturing' (in the cultural sense) should be considered more generally as 'the development toward one's productive identity' or something instead of 'the development toward one's assimilation into societal standards.' (As if standards are the same everywhere in one society, anyway, no matter how finely you divide them.)

Some would say I'm splitting hairs, but I genuinely am intrigued.

I agree maturity is getting to know who you are but that should never be at some one's expensive being downright rude and ruining property should never be a way to enlighten yourself.

Did you find "Sideways" boring because it dealt with the lives of two males in their late thirties/early forties?

No, I found it boring because I did'nt find the characters likeable or interesting.

Ugh, that piece of news is putting me off X-Men 3... well, that and the fact that they changed directors and globally seem like the movie will be targeting an (how can I say that without sounding like a nazi ?) intellectually-poorer audience than the first two movies... Will they manage to kill the legacy that was built so far ? I blame Dan Buckley, I do... I say, bring back Jemas and Quesada quick!!!

I agree, it's sad really because the first 2 were damn good.

Wow, you've got two of my favorite shows on that list. What's your beef with Arrested?

I just don't find it funny. I don't know why really I guess it's just one of those things I can't get hip with.

I thought I was alone in disliking Family Guy. Thanks for giving me hope.

No problem.
