Hmmm, I rather like moths. They always have to play second fiddle to butterflies in people's imaginations...

But something brushing up against me in the water? The thought of that makes me shudder!

And cockroaches make me feel sick. Nothing makes me lose my appetite like seeing a roach.

I attended a summer camp in the mountains, when I was a child, which was poorly lit. At night, all the outdoor lamps would be nearly smothered by clouds of moths, some the size of my childish fist, with large, grotesque, brightly-colored bodies, long legs, and soft wings. They would swoop and dive at us as we tried to enter the buildings, so that we would duck and cover our heads with our arms. If one got caught in our hair, it was over.

OK, I can totally see that. I guess that scene in Silence of the Lambs had a special resonance for you?

Oh, yes. I thought the room full of moths was totally creepy. I LOVE Silence of the Lambs. I predicted it would win an Academy Award from the moment I first saw it, when it came out in March.
