Hey, I'm pretty picky with my time...

I agree with just about everything on this list, but add every other cop / forensic / courtroom drama and spinoff to the list, with the exception of the original Law & Order. Sam Waterston still has it.

I do, however, really like Six Feet Under, and Raymond can sometimes get me laughing out loud.

:) Actually, I'm one of the freaky geeks who thinks the show has never been the same since Michael Moriarty left back in 94. I do confess, however, to a brief crush on Jill Hennessy back around 93...

I believe I am utterly alone on Six Feet Under. To me, it has all the elements that threatened to sink American Beauty without any of the saving graces of that film. I don't hate it, but it often bugs me and has yet to thrill or to move me. I wonder how many critics would rave if it wasn't on HBO or put together by the AB team. Raymond is spotty, but I confess that certain episodes are terrific (I'm thinking of that 'fish for Thanksgiving' show...). It is a bit too hit and miss, though, for me to shower it with the love others often do.

If you are not counting Homicide: Life on the Street or the first few seasons of NYPD Blue, I'd be very tempted to agree with your initial sentence, especially regarding the spin-offs. I crave originality while the rest of America seems to relish formulas. -sigh-

Of course, if the spin-offs were any good...

Most people seem to dig Family Guy.

As do I. Good show. I'm glad to hear it is returning from the grave.
