/Islands in the Net/ just didn't seem to be that great a story. It's decent if you've time to kill, but there're better ways to spend one's time these days.
I think /Neuromancer/ has become way too cliched; it got me started into cyberpunk-type stuff, but it just isn't all that cool a book anymore. A movie, however...
I didn't even get through /The Difference Engine/; I'm sorry to say the beginning is way too slow to keep my interest. I'll probably try again when I get through my current reading queue.
But I might just not be a Gibson fan.

I have to say that Gibson does have a strange style to me too, that takes me a while to get past when reading his books. He throws so much "imagery" that is really meaningless to me. I feel he is trying to give me an atmosphere of this hi-tech world, but it always starts off, for me, as just a bunch of Corporation names and logos and what not that don't mean anything. However, once I get to know the characters, I do enjoy his books.
