Marylin Monroe
- The Wrens - The Meadowlands
- An incredible emo nugget that's both soft and loud at the same time. Where other emo seems content to rock and whine, "The Wrens" rock, whine and make it important. But who gives a flying gonad what the style is when you got a song as good as "Faster Gun" on yer album. :?D
Mae West
- Oneida - Secret Wars
- Really great for about 5 listens, then it stops growing and you realize you don't want to listen anymore. Sad really.
Melanie Griffith
- John Martyn - Solid Air
- There used to be a time when AOR was cool. Everyone was having lots of sex so who really cares what they were listening to (hence Peter Frampton). This is really average blooze tinkling. Booo--oooooooooo-ooring.

buy it
- The Libertines - The Libertines
- Funnier and kitchier and better all round than the first release. The Libi's have uncovered a snide sense of humour as well as a love for restrained swingin'-60's rockers. More adult if you could possibly use that word describe a band that revels in teenage revelry. Yet they've grown as a band building an invigorating album with many interesting facets. Holy cow crap on the tarmac...good show boyos.
Borrow It
- John Cale - Hobosapiens
- Maybe my expectations were a tad high considering the critical gusher unleashed upon this album. But it just sounds like Cale...except he has tinkered with some electronica. Good songs, good playing, but mostly it's just kinda forgettable.
Step On It
- The Distillers - Coral Fang
- I may be a tad late on this one, but "Coral Fang" is an atrocious album. The first song is a marvel called "Drain The Blood", it could have been song of the year. After that is's just mediocre filler wanna-be Courtney Love rantings. Stinky, real stinky. On a side note, pick up Bikini Kill - Pussywhipped and get your money's worth.

Nakamichi
- Mark Lanegan Band - Bubblegum
- A ballad laden set is a brilliant gumbo of avante-blues and hard rock. Complete with a talented cast of guest musicians the album is laced with fine lyrics and great musicianship. With an album careening from beautiful ballads to roaring flair-ups, there's something for everyone.
Denon
- Explosions In The Sky - The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place
- Although I love this album I would reccomend for people to try it out first. The music is a strange blend of minimalist musicianship and complicated orchestral arrangements. An odd masterpiece destined to gather dust because of it's quixotic nature.
Technics
- Supertramp - Crime Of The Century
- An annoying and embarrasing tincture of musical style that combined equal bad music. Just real bad.
