States I Have Driven Around In

I'm just back from this year's "Big Road Trip" (a summer vacation tradition for the last 5 years). This one was the "biggest" yet: 5409 miles (round-trip from Wichita Kansas to Seattle Washington via the scenic route). I don't know if I am ever going to top this number of miles. I'll let you know if I even come close--but for now, I plan to stay put for at least 6 months.

I have now "driven around in" every state west of the Mississippi except California.

I'm counting Illinois even though I never actually "drove" in the state. I figure taking the bus to Chicago and riding public transportation while I was in the city is roughly the same experience.
