This a list of songs I would like to have played at my funeral. Depressing I know, but I thought it would make a good list. Any suggestions? (besides "seek therapy.")

Good collection. I especially like the Young, Joy Division, Bjork, and Cash choices. I think I could really go with Aretha Franklin's live Gospel album, as well as Elvis' Gospel collection (in fact I told my mom about the Elvis one several years ago, but she didn't want to talk about my funeral. I guess she has some cockamamie idea that she and my dad will go first...)

Johnny Waco

Yeah, I thought I might include The Meatpuppets' "Lake of Fire." Just as a joke.

Nick Cave and PJ Harvey-Death Is Not The End.

cool, what album is that on?

That's on Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds'-Murder Ballads. A whole album devoted to murder, death and dying. It's actually a very lively album.

How about 18 Wheels and a Crowbar by BR5-49, which is about a truck driver who kills those who cut him off. I didn't catch on to this at first, and was quite shocked when I finally listened to the words.

Or 25 minutes to go by Johnny Cash - a song counting down the minutes to his execution. Cash seems to have a wealth of songs about death.

Another is (Tonight is the Night) I Fell Asleep At the Wheel by the Barenaked Ladies. This song is amazingly beautiful - I don't even have the words to describe it. You must listen if you haven't already. It is on the lasest album, "Maroon".

I love that song (Fell Asleep at the Wheel) its great.

hey thanks for replying. i love the song 25 minutes to go.

the more i listen to it, the more i think that "i've seen it all" (bjork) is probably my #1 song to die to. it just wraps it all up, ya know?

joy division- the eternal is a really good choice
