really, it's a honor just to be nominated...

I'd have to go check exact song titles but there really should be a they might be giants song or two on here.
consider it done. or at least started...
Nick,
If you are ever looking for an honorary album for this list may I suggest a listen to the Residents 1980 release Commercial Album. I dont think any song actually clocks in under a minute but I think they all fit are a minute and few seconds.
The concept of this album, If I remember correctly, was that all commercial pop music contains 3 sections to each song and when you actually break down the songs you actually only have around one minute of original music and the other 2 or 3 minutes is just repetitive.
The residents, as subversive band as you are likely to find, just did like 40 songs where they completely eliminate any repetition.
Certainly not their best album but definitely worth a listen.
that's an interesting concept. more and more, I hear songs on the radio and wish they would end sooner, merely because nothing original or worthwhile is evidencing itself. whether that makes me astute or unbelievably impatient is for someone else to judge.
y'know, I saw a mess of Residents CDs at a used CD store the other day. I've only read their bio on allmusic.com, but they seem quite worthy of respect for their singular (and bizarre) vision.
Nick give them a listen. They are an acquired taste but usually never dull.
Just remembered, "Sometimes I Feel" by Hootie and The Blowfish on "Cracked Rear View". Track 12 at :53 seconds.
There I go again making the assumption someone's looking for a suggestion. Whatever.
whoop! I have the album, but never listened to the track until a couple days ago. not a personal slight, stumpy, not at all.
is this a cover or is the song traditional?
I'd nominate Eddie Van Halen's "Eruption" for this list. I don't crank the radio often, but I can't help but turn it up loud when that song comes on.
It's definitely a fun track, but at 1:42 it's a tad long for my purposes. thanks though!
Tea for the Tillerman - Cat Stevens
Her Majesty definitely deserves a first place
