- these are the songs I've enjoyed the most this year - not necessarily songs that were released this year. look in comments section for links to youtube vids of the songs Also beyond the top say 5, rest are not really in any order.
- Fans (Kings Of Leon, 2007)
- What a great track, so good! the lyrics are brilliant, his voice is amazing, fast paced energy, i love it to bits.
- Knocked Up (Kings Of Leon, 2007)
- such a beautiful song. Chilling, touching and all together heartfelt. I'm suprised it's the opening track of Because of the times, it seems to me more like a closing track. If i was to fault it at all it would be there are a few moments where the tempo picks up and the hard guitars come in, not sure this was needed. That however does not take away from what is a haunting epic.
- The Age Of The Understatement (The Last Shadow Puppets, 2008)
- love the old western style in the background, lyrics are brilliant, vocals great, Alex turner tries his side project, and its a total success. "Kiss me properly and pull me apart" i love this song.
- The Wrong Man Was Convicted (Barenaked Ladies, 1994)
- Thats it, its my fave BNL ballad, such a beautiful song and top notch vocals
- Amazed (The Offspring, 1997)
- Simple song, amazing vocals, killer chorus.
- Session (The Offspring, 1992)
- Pure garage rock energy, awesome.
- (Get off Your) High Horse Lady (Oasis, 2008)
- A very different song from the manchester boys but brilliant all the same
- (Antichrist Television Blues) (Arcade Fire, 2007)
- so glad i revisted this album this year. Antichrist Television Blues is an awesome song, so much atmosphere and passion, great song indeedy
- Sex_On_Fire (Kings Of Leon, 2008)
- KOL never fail to deliver a addictive chorus and boy they do it again, i'm not so keen on the repeating of last lines in the verses but its all worth it for the chorus.
- I'm Outta Time (Oasis, 2008)
- nice tune, good vocals and including that quote from john lennon was brilliant, really adds to the song
- Revelry (Kings Of Leon, 2008)
- Again much like knocked up, it has a certain haunting element to it, maybe its just me lol
- Umbrella (Rihanna, 2007)
- I don't go clubbing much anymore, my clubbing years are behind me it seems, saying that i am going tommorow for the first time in 5 months. however for i did go quite a bit at one stage, i mainly went because majority of my friends liked going. as did i but theres nothing more annoying than having to pretend to have fun dancing to the same drum beat and lyric over and over again. (especially if you're not drunk). So much so that songs i wouldn't like normally, become favourites. When a song like Umbrella comes on that has varied lyrics and musical ques, its such a breath of fresh air. Not my type of music really but for what it is, its one of the better ones and i do like the song quite a bit
- Say It Right (Nelly Furtado, 2006)
- Again, a dance tunei really like. Another tune that if it came on in dance club i'd be happy. i really like this song a lot, theres something dark and slightly haunting about the tune in the back ground. its slow, its got a lot of atmos, its awesome, brilliant vocals too.
- The Beginning Is the End Is the Beginning (The Smashing Pumpkins, 1995)
- Purely down to the Watchmen trailer, but a bloody good track

Glad to see I've inspired you :-D Nice list, I liked Knocked Up and Sex On Fire too. And The Wrong Man Was Convicted is great, of course.
:D aye cheers for inspiration lol
i was looking through your other music lists and saw your fave bands had been updated, looking at your BNL key songs i realised i had never really properly listened to Rule the World with Love. What a great tune!
you up to much this xmas mate?
Yeah, I really like "Rule the World with Love". I love the twists and turns the chorus lyric takes - "Hearts are won, empires fall in love with love, love will conquer all for one one for all is fair in love and war, love and war are one" :D
Not much this Christmas mate, pretty quiet. Just seeing the family and stuff. Y'know, I haven't been on MSN Messenger since our post-midnight chat on New Year's Day, I don't think.. maybe I'll pop on again that time this year :D You doing much over Christmas and New Year's?
:D awesome lyric, BNL are amazing with words.
yeah i'm barely on it anymore, yeah i llke signing in on new years if i'm in , so who else is on at that time. yeah i think it will be 3 times in a row if we end up on msn at new years lol i'm just doing famiy stuff at xmas and new years as far as i know, might be a house party i could go ot at new years but i prefer spending that with the family for some reason
All right, I'll be sure to check in on New Year's and see if you're on.
I prefer to stay in on New Year's too, but then again I'm not big on partying in general.
well i'm not big on partying either really. I went through a stage where i went clubbing, a lot :/ but (it may be that i'm just getting old haha) but i much prefer to stay in now lol I've always prefered nights out in pubs with a few close friends, than night clubbing, but i used to go anyway. Now i don't like even thinking of going Night clubbing, too much bother and its usually a bad night more than it is a good
I've never even been clubbing in any real sense (my excuse is that I only turned 18 a month ago, though :D) I doubt I ever would though. Definitely a night out with a few friends is much better.
