- The Godfather - Having seen this about 43 skidillion times, I finally sat down and read Mario Puzo's novel...I was colossally disappointed. Puzo writing style was no better than say John Grisham; lousy dialogue, little character development. I'm not sure what Coppola saw in it, but I must say his film is light-years better than what amounts to a quick summer read.
- A Time to Kill - Speaking of Grisham, this is the only book of his I've read and liked (no, I haven't read anything of his since "The Client"). Pretty good little drama, gripping enough to keep your attention. But Sandra Bullock still works my nerves.

Man o man, you are right on the money regarding The Godfather. I'm enjoying this "books and their movies" series you've got going. There are so many titles you could add to one of these lists: Fellowship of the Ring, Fight Club, any Jane Austen, any Shakespeare, Johnny Mnemonic, Harry Potter, The Shipping News . . . Cripes, I'm going to stop now. There's like a million of 'em.
I must be the only person on earth that hasn't seem this "Rings" movie...
Dunno, I quite liked "Fight Club" as a novel, but I'll take the film any day.
Good heavens, Jim! I hope you're not suggesting that Fellowship and Shakespeare are "so-so"! Really, I just about had a heart attack when I read your post - I was just shocked. Shocked! I'm assuming for the moment that you merely meant that these are some very good films, unless you tell me otherwise. ;P
No no no no no! :-) I was just pointing out books that could go somewhere in this "books to movies" series slipkid71 has going. I wasn't suggesting they should be put on this particular list!
