As before, this list is roughly chronological. Inclusion on this list does not mean I dislike everything in this genre, but I tend to.

Very, very interesting and daring... I would love to see a list of exceptions to this list. For example, I heard a rumor that you pop on a Who album occasionally, even though they are a British Invasion band. I also bet that you can think of at least one Rave / House / Drum 'n' Bass / Modern Rock artist you like (I notice from another list that you like Better Than Ezra). I know you dig Dylan, who at times certainly falls under the Folk and Singer / Songwriter category; heck, the Singer / Songwriter genre was basically created for him! I'd love it if you would work up a list along these lines.
Shalom, y'all!

British Invasion? Thats the genre that changed rock forever. Alot of these are the better genres in my book.
I'm certainly not saying nothing good comes from these genres, just that I don't care much for them...
When I saw you list and at least 9 of my fave genres, I thought how different our taste must be.
Essential to the natural evolution of Pop, I believe these are all unavoidable as prime genres:
Teen Idols / British Invasion / Brill Building / Bubblegum / Power Pop / Singer Songwriter / Alt Country & Folk
Although 'Teen Idols' aren't what they once there - it would be the first one I'd vote in the crapola camp in the 90's and 2000's - but historically where would we be without the 50's varieties?
I was prepared to violently oppose your 'genres I like list', but I like most of them, so natch!
However I can definitely agree with many in the 'not liked list', The world would be a whole lot better without:
Heavy Metal / Glam Metal (aka Hair Metal) / Disco / Drum 'n' Bass / House / Thrash / Rave
and I'd add all forms of pedestrian/stadium rock - a contemptible genre if ever there was one.
