This is my first endeavour in gathering auditory stimuli (read: music selections) that correlate with an abstract visual concept, such as a color. In philosophical terms, a color might be considered a universal; true, it has a correlating wavelength, but the wavelength is NOT what makes orange look orange – it is our own cognitive process, complicit with the physical world within and around us that produces that magical color.

This is basically a growing compilation of songs that "sound" like that wonderfully spunky shade, orange! After listening to hundreds of orange-ish and orange-ful nominees, the tracks you see above are the distilled results, full of enough spunk and funk to make you piss OJ.

You may want to familiarize yourself with a few of the tunes though (via Morpheus, natch), since the variation of interpretations of this color's impetus is probably just as wild as the color itself.

Let me note that this is a work in progress and as such, your comments, additions, and pretty much any random musings on orange WILL be considered (what a concept!). I'm really interested in others' ideas on this one, so PLEASE -- let your mind roam free on this one...I'm all ears.

Oh, and sorry for the orange-induced blindness. I know that can be a headache.

Okay, I love the idea for this list even if I have a hard time visualizing the albums in my music collection as colors. I guess, if I had to pick my orangest album, I'd go for Truth and Soul by Fishbone.

Great suggestion! I'd totally forgotten about Fishbone...they definitely have some orange in their sound! It might be hard to mix them in, considering their anomalistic rock sound amongst the other, more tricked-out funky selections, but I'll certainly give it a shot! Thanks for the input!
