In the case of the latter two, great artists but the depths to which they are going for renewed popularity is disheartening...Anyone I'm missing?
I whole-heartedly agree about Aerosmith, they used to put out high-quality guitar jams and rock out with the best, but now they go through the motions...as almost everyone who saw the Super Bowl halftime show could tell, they try too hard recently to be pop-friendly, to the point of alienating their fanbase of the past 20 years with sleepy songs like Jaded..
Yeah, that superbowl thing got to me as well. Considering their history, Aerosmith shouldn't have to share the stage with Brittney, N'Sync, or any one else. I believe they could still put out some great raunchy rock 'n roll (unlike the Stones), but they seem content to crank out pop hits and fatten their wallets. Sigh...
