how was revelation space? I haven't gotten around to it yet.
Good! Alastair Reynolds is my favorite new author.
Cool. I've got both Revelation Space and Chasm City waiting to be gotten around to.
Redemption Ark is a direct sequel to Revelation Space. Chasm City is sort of a one-off novel which takes place in the same universe and has a slight amount of overlap. Absolution Gap (out in June) is the 3rd book in the Ark, Space story arc.
As it turns out I read Chasm City before Revelation Space. I'm glad I did. If I'm lucky I'll get to read the "trilogy" all within a few months of each other. He's probably one of the most convincing hard Sci-Fi writes I've ever read and he has a good mastery of language as well.
Halfway through Revelation Space now... (And yes, it's good)
