Rating the Films: John Dahl

Dahl is a director who has made it his mission to keep the modern noir genre alive, and he’s been relatively successful at it. He likes devious, but typically sympathetic, lead characters and has a penchant for good dialogue (he’s written two of his films). He doesn’t have a particularly high profile, but he seems to be comfortable with doing the projects he wants. Here’s how his films rate.
