Rating the Films: David Lynch

Lynch is the king of the bizarre, with his movies almost always circling off into otherly worldly weirdness. He has a deep interest in the sliding nature of identity, but he’s not hiding a lack of ability behind the smoke-and-mirrors of his labyrinthine stories. He can be disarmingly effective with straightforward material, such as Elephant Man, and he always finds some shred of humanity in his protagonists. Here’s how his films rate.
