thanks for mentioning CRYBABY...i just saw it again recently on tv and it was so much fun...the funny thing is that the theme park at the end of the movie (remember?) was actually a real place in baltimore...you know john waters and baltimore...anyway i used to go there when i was very young! but it got torn down to build a shopping mall or something...another cool thing about that are lines like, "you've made me the happiest juvenile delinquent in Baltimore!" (upon receiving the red motorcycle) and also "ELECTRICITY KILLED MY PARENTS!!!" (where he rips of his shirt....:)....to reveal a tattoo of an electric chair....

john waters IS fun! (have you seen the Simpsons he guest stars on? it's one of the finest episodes!) strangely enough, the first movie i saw of his was Pecker and i absolutely loved it--then i moved on to Hairspray, Serial Mom, etc.

i still haven't seen alot of his old stuff--although i'm somewhat nervous about Pink Flamingos and some of his more "tasteless" work. i am looking forward to Cecil B. DeMented though--which, according to IMDB is in production now...

haven't seen pecker yet...much to my dismay...yes, i too am a bit wary about Pink Flamingos...i've heard it's raunchy and offensive...i think i'll have to bite the bullet someday and actually see it..i wonder if blockbuster even carries it? what's cecil b. demented? i guess i'll go check out the link...

I'm glad to see RUSHMORE on your list. Although it received some decent reviews, it was horribly overlooked by the public. It was one of my favorite films of the previous year. As was RONIN, which I think was also overlooked, and misunderstood.

yeah, Rushmore is a movie not many people i know seem to understand. i've recommended it to several people i thought would "get it" and they come back saying "i rented this on your suggestion... blah,blah,blah... it put me to sleep." what can i say--you can lead a horse to water, ya know?

(see this discussion for an amusing anecdote about my second time seeing Rushmore.)

im glad to see rushmore on your list ..Wes anderson is the best director around..i think

on the rushmore tip, the soundtrack is definitely worth a listen....i bought it and it stayed in my stereo for quite a while! i highly recommend checking in out...
