  • Comment: Why do I always seem to like his critically less acclaimed albums more than his critically acclaimed ones? The same happens here. It wasn't as loved as it's predecessor, Flowers In The Dirt, but I personally think it's far superior to that. I would even go as far as saying as this is as good as solo-McCartney gets.

  • Comment: Wait a minute, don't artists usually get worse as they get older? Whatever the case, Paul McCartney was 55 (the perfect number and age, duh) when he made this, the best album of his carreer up to this point and the only one so far that could compete with his former collaberator's best. And yes, I mean John Lennon. That's quite a feat for a man who had been writing since his late teens. He shows off he's still got it, producing some of the best songs of his solo career. Congratulations, mister McCartney.

Why does everyone always hate "Cook of the House"? I've always kinda liked it...

I don't remember what I disliked about it. Heh, I forgot the song already. Maybe that's a reason.

Can't wait to see how you'll rate Hope Of Deliverance. It's my favourite McCartney's song, but I think that his real fans don't really like it.

Well, apparantly, I'm not a real fan of his solo carreer anyway (since I've been disappointed in all his albums, besides Venus And Mars and Back To The Egg)

So maybe I'll like it as much as you

I love Venus and Mars too, this and Red Rose Speedway are my two favorite solo/Wings Paul albums although Band On The Run is very good too. The All Music Guide gives Red Rose Speedway a 4 star review but they gave Wildlife a 2! Too Many People is a great Paul Rocker on Ram I would give it a 9 or 10. Also Everynight is such a good song on McCartney.

Venus And Mars is the only Wings album I really like. The others all have good songs, but they just don't really appeal to me.

Yes! I'm glad I've finally found someone who agrees with me that Flaming Pie is far and away Paul's best solo album, and better than anything he did with Wings (though I seem to like them a lot more than you).

Yeah, Flaming Pie just took me by surprise.

I'll be very interested to see what you think of Memory Almost Full.

Me, I don't think it lives up to all the hype. Though the second time it was definitely better, and I'm thinking the third might be the charm. But right now...pretty good, but nothing great.

There's a hype?

I accidentally found out the album even existed. And so far, I've seen no publicity for it, and only read a few reviews, most of which said it wasn't all too good anyway.

Well, I've seen pretty incessant marketing. TV commercials, magazine ads, web ads, etc. It debuted at #3, and the bulk of the reviews are superb.

Heh, there hasn't been a single ad here.

What a silly country I live in.
