From the latest Paste Magazine. Not that I bought it

yikes...

Paul McCartney at #5? Brian Wilson #7? These are 2 of the most mediocre lyricists in rock history. Is this some sort of joke?

This has to be a fan voted poll, right?

The list is for the 100 Greatest LIVING Lyricists. This info might make it a little easier to take.

Not really. Most of the finest lyricists of rock are still alive. McCartney and Wilson shouldn't even be on here, and if anything, near the very bottom. It's almost diffcult to think of good lyricists who aren't better than them. Honestly, I can't think of any...but I imagine they exist.

Ranking them #5 & #7 is outrageous. Who compiled this? Fans or this magazine?

The magazine put together the list with the help of 50 writers and musicians.

Well, I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

yeah...call me a fool but I wasn't waiting for dave matthews and death cab for cutie and postal service writer/singer ben gibbard. I know I can't compete with paste magazine though?

the creteria of this list is easy , it just based on the songs that persons hears millions of times , as well the name of the artist, ian anderson , from jethro must be in this list. he won a honorary doctorate degree in literature, his poets example of study cases in liturature classes on england universities .
