I hope this does not offend any one.

Sorry, Mary, but that might cause some controversy around here.... What have you heard by Liz Phair? Exile in Guyville is one of my favorite albums, but I have to admit it's been downhill since then. Still... Exile is awesome.
I knew that one would cause controversary but i've listened to her albums and kept an open-mind and was very disappointed.
choices 1-4 can't argue with. No Doubt is not annoying, they are original and gwen is beautiful. Liz phair is not a wannabe. and Dave grohl does much more than cover clash songs. He is one of the greatest musicians of the last 10 years.
That's all a matter of opinoin.
Nice list, but does anyone really rate avril lavigne/britney sprears/boy bands?
wow! agree completely with everyone on the list except Dave Grohl and Bjork. I like Bjork, and love her music but I can see how she would be annoying. But Dave Grohl... come on! He played drums for Queens of the Stone Age, plus he was in freakin' Nirvana! How can you not like Dave Grohl?
In my opinoin Dave Grohl is riding on the coat tails of the legacy of Nirvana.
Bjork?
I...I don't know what to say.
Sob....
:( oh...don't cry. It's just that she seems silly to me,creativity is a great asset to have but that does'nt necessasrily make you good. She seems like a great person but I can't get into her music.
I agree with you on Bjork and your comments on creativity. I feel exactly the same about David Byrne. She also reminds me a little of Yoko Ono, of whom I bought a double album in 1973 (Approximately Infinite Universe) after hearing 'Death Of Samantha' on the radio - click on the link to hear a sample.
Wow...Uh I don't know what to say,Yoko Ono is one Creeeeeeeeeepy lady.
I have Lennon's Concert in Toronto on video tape. There's a Yoko song (Don't Cry Kyoko) where she climbs into a burlap sack and wails for 10 minutes as Lennon and Clapton play blues riffs. The look on Clapton's face (he's obviously high which doesn't help) is priceless as he tries to figure out what the hell Yoko is doing. Great concert otherwise though. Yer Blues is great.
That's downright insane!
If you've ever heard "Give Peace a Chance", one of the lines in the song is (roughly)"Everyone's talking about thisism, thatism, bagism..."
Bagism was Yoko's idea that if you get in a bag, no one knows what you look like so there would be no more racism. While it would probably seem profound to a kindergartener, it didn't translate well to the stage. You have to see it to believe it.
Ha ha ha ha ha ha (while rolling on the floor).
She was known as an avant-garde artist before she met John. She can certainly wail, and does so at times on the album.
She certainly is Avant Garde.
Amen to the Dave Grohl inclusion! I am getting so sick of seeing him everywhere because he has to "fill in" for every band under the sun when he's not churning out another Foo Fighters album. Why can't he just disappear for a while? When, oh when, will the backlash begin on this assclown?!
Johnny Waco
He is an ass clown is'nt he?
Hell yeah, he is...
Johnny Waco
*laughter*
Are you prepared for a rise in foo?
Their rising?
Just something that a hero of mine once said.
I say we embrace the concept of foo and put all of the fighters out of business.
I'm prepared for a full-scale cultural revolution against everything foo...
;)
Johnny Waco
I Think we could take them.
Amen to that!
They must pay.
