Oscar 2004 Predictions - Nominees

here are my oscar predictions:
Best Picture:
American Splendour
Cold Mountain
Lord of the Rings-The Return of the King
Mystic River
Seabiscut
I'm guessing it will go to Cold Mountain and that is what i would pick. Though i wouldn't be disapointed if Mystic River got it.

Best Director:
Harvey Pekar-American Splendour
Tim Burton-Big Fish
Anthony Minghella-Cold Mountain
Peter Jackson-Lord of the Rings
Clint Eastwood-Mystic River
I definatly would love to see Tim Burton win, although Clint Eastwood is also deserving he has already had a moment to shine.

Best Actor:
Jude Law-Cold Mountain
Tom Cruise-The Last Samurai
Russell Crowe-Master and Commander
Bill Murray-Lost in Translation
Jack Nicholson-Something's Gotta Give
I think it would be awesome if Tom Cruise could win. He beeen nominated and lost so many times i think it would be cool to see him have a "Susan Lucci Moment". Although Bill Murray is also deserving and would be my personal runner up.

Best Actress:
Nicole Kidman-Cold Mountain
Scarlet Johannson-Girl With A Pearl Earring
Chalize Theron-Monster
Diane Keaton-Something's Gotta Give
Cate Blanchett-Veronica Guerin
I think Diane Keaton should win although i wouldn't be disapointed if Charlize Theron or Nicole Kidman won. Although wouldn't that be a little akward if Kidman won Best Actress and Tom Cruise won Best Actor?

Best Supporting Actor:
Albert Finney-Big Fish
Alec Baldwin-The Cooler
William H. Macy-Seabiscut
Peter Sarsgaard-Shattered Glass
Keeanu Reeves-Something's Gotta Give
I definalty think William H. Macy should win this one, i really can't picture anyone else taking the oscar home. Although if i had to choose a runner up i would say Peter Sarsgaard.

Best Supporting Actress:
Hope Davis-American Splendour
Renne Zelwegger-Cold Mountain
Maria Bello-The Cooler
Patricia Clarkson-Pieces of April
Holly Hunter-Thirteen
I think the winner should be Patricia Clarkson if not maybe Holly Hunter, both in roles as modern day mothers.

So here would be my winners:

Best Actor: Tom Cruise-The Last Samurai
Best Actress: Diane Keaton-Something's Gotta Give
Best Supportign Actor: William H. Macy-Seabiscut
