- 1936...Munich, Germany...Cleveland, Ohio native Jesse Owens wins four gold medals in men's track. He takes gold in the 100, 200, 400 m relay, and the broad jump...setting Olympic records in all but one event. Jesse becomes the first American in Olympic Track & Field history to win four gold medals in a single day.

- 1972...Munich, Germany...The men's basketball gold medal game ends in a shocking upset with the Soviet team taking the gold medal.
