Alright, I finally saw Open Your Eyes last night. Pretty good, though I didn't fall completely in love with it. I was able to guess the ending about half way through the film, but that wasn't really a problem. The ending didn't quite juice me though. Still, very stylish and interesting.

Did you catch the great allusion of the lead character's name? It hit me about 3/4 of the way through the film, and at that point, I knew my guesses about the ending were correct.

Fun, with some incredible directing and acting.

His first name, Cesar?

Yes. It's an allusion to The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, which shares two major elements with Open Your Eyes. First, the character named Cesar (Cesare in Caligari) in both films is 'asleep' yet doesn't really appear to be. Second, both films involve a character in a mental institution telling a story that to that character appears to be true, but in "reality" is very very wrong. One of my favorite silent films, well-served on DVD.
