Author Comments:

I am a voracious mystery reader, and these are the books I have loved reading this past year.
Ok, not all of them are mystery books (the Western novels by Elmore Leonard), but they are fun to read, and they mostly involve prison escapes, bounty hunting, etc., so they are not too far from the topic.
I have also loved Bordersnakes, by James Crumley, it's a pity his other books are not so good as this one.
Robert B. Parker has a special place among mystery writers, his Spencer novels are fun, and they are so many, there is always one I have not read.
If any of you people out there can read Italian, I can put up a list of Italian mystery/crime novels. :)

I'm about to start the Connelly series. Why not Angels Flight? Why was that one not recommended?

I loved Connelly's earliest books, featuring detective Harry Bosch, not only for the plots but also for the dialogues, and the insights into Bosch's personality. All this seems lost, I have the feeling that Connelly has written his last books for money, and to "ride the wave" of his success. I have the same feeling when I see Connelly's quotes on other authors' books (I've seen three of them up to now): the quotes are obviously not given for free, and the books they recommend are dull, uninteresting. To sum it up, the last Connelly's book that is worth to read is Blood Work, after that they are not worth the money.
