  • 30. The Quiet Man: John Wayne plays a retired boxer, who comes to live in Ireland. There, he finds his future wife, O Hara. This movie plays on the feelings of Wayne and O Hara for eachother. Just a must see movie, if you haven't seen already. Directed by John Ford.
  • 31. Grease: My favorite musical. A movie that has one of the greatest soundtracks in movie history. This movie will have you humming the songs for days. Directed by Randal Kleiser.
  • 32. Amadeus: I watched this movie twice in two days. It's a little long (about 3 hours if i remember correctly), but is worth the time. A very intresting view on the life of Motzart, and Antonio Salieri. Motzart is shown as arrogant, and vulgar, which enrages Salieri. Salieri's jelously for Motzart, basically destroys Motzart in the end. Directed by Milos Forman.
  • 33. The French Connection: The French Connection is famous for one of the most famous car chases in movie history. Hackman shines in his role of an investigator who tries to stop drug smuggling. Directed by William Friedkin.
  • 34. East of Eden: I've read 3 Steinbeck novels. Although i haven't read East of Eden yet, this movie reminds me exactly of a Steinbeck novel. This is James Dean's main starring role in a movie. James Dean was like Marilyn, in having something when he starred in movies. East of Eden is OOP, so if you can get it somewhere cheap, GET IT! Directed by Elia Kazan.
  • 35. The Seven Year Itch: I haven't seen all the Marilyn movies, but i can't imagine them much better than this. This is another great comedy, with the famous scence where Marilyn's dress is blown up by the air of the subway. Marilyn had a kind of grace in all of her movies, and lit up every movie she starred in. Directed by Billy Wilder.
  • 36. Return of the Jedi: The third and final movie in the star wars trilogy. There are so many great things about this movie, jabba the hut, ewoks, and the emperor, vader, and luke fight at the end. Directed by Richard Marquand
  • 37. King Kong: Well, there's not much i can say about this movie, that everyone doesn't know already. I picked this, because, after 68 years, it is still an enjoyable movie to watch. Also the special effects were great for that time. King Kong is a major milestone in movie history. Directed by Ernest B. Schoedsack and Merian C. Cooper
  • 38. Serpico: I watched Serpico a few weeks ago, and was suprised at how great is was. Frank Serpico (Pacino), is one of the only clean cops on the street, not taking any kind of bribe money. After awhile, it upsets the other cops, and makes then nervous of what Serpico could do. He goes undercover, to try and uncover, the dirty cops on the street. One of Pacino's best movies. Directed by Sidney Lumet
  • 39. The Producers: This is one of my favorite comidies. It stars Gene Wilder (making his big screen debut), and Zeo Mostel. I saw this for the first time on AMC or TCM, i can't remember which. It was a school night for me, and I stayed up until about 1 A.M. to finish watching it, because it drew me in. Wilder talks Mostel into selling shares of one of the worst plays of all time, Springtime for Hitler, and then, once the play flops, to steal the shares. But, the play catches on, and they are stuck with 25,000% to deal with. A GREAT comedy. Directed by Mel Brooks

After seeing alot of "100 best movies" lists, i decided to give my opinion a shot. I can't really make a "best movies" list, because i haven't seen all of the movies ever made. But, these are the movies that i have seen, and are my favorites. I liked the way lbangs did his "100 best/favorite cds" list, so i decided to use that format.
