- 10.The Beatles - A Day in the Life
- I read the news today, oh boy... Makes you cry every time. I love the chords used in this, and the voice. They all blend in and make this one of the best Beatles songs out there.
- 9.The Beatles - Come Together
- Strange Lyrics, strange music, good song. John's verse words are hilarious, and they don't seem to fit with the chorus, making it a brilliant song
- from the legendary group. Kind of long at the end, and I think only musicians would like it, but a nice way to finish.
- 8.Flogging Molly - If I Ever Leave This World Alive
- Best song the Irish rockers have ever written. A slow ballad, with the best vocals the singer has ever sang. Awesome, awesome song, you can buy the album just for it.
- 7.AFI - The Leaving Song
- Punk gone chords, this song is perfect from start to finish. Davey really shows off that he can be a great singer here, not just a screamer. It has a beautiful "Em 2 G D Am C" pattern, and ends with a solo leaving you in bliss. Best song AFI has ever written.
- 6.The Beatles - Let It Be
- Another song that is ripped off repeatedly is Let It Be. (C G A F) On this song from The Beatle's last studio album, Paul shows off his ability to write an amazing chord progression on the piano.
- Plus, those vocals and lyrics are very well thought-out. I feel this song is a bit underrated.
- 5.The Beatles - Eleanor Rigby
- A nice, calm song abotu lonley people. What else do you want? This a Beatles classic, consisting of on violins and voice. If you listen carefully, the chord progression in the Intro is "C Em", which has been ripped of repeatedly since this song was written.
- 4.Nirvana - About A Girl
- Kurt Cobain was an astounding musician, and it completely shows on this track. There's a perfect melody during the "Em G" part, and it easily gets stuck in your head. Pleave it to Kurt to add in that special "Out-of-Place" note...you know, where he plays "A C"? Genius.
- 3.Oasis - Hello
- One of Oasis' best songs. I love the lyrics, solos and just everything about it. It's a great way to open (What's The Story) Morning Glory, and is perfect. Sorry Wonderwall, this is what Oasis should be known for.
- 2.The Beatles - Help!
- An excellent song from start to finish, "Help!" delivers everything you need from the Beatles. Catchy lyrics, harmonizing backup voice, and George's "7-5-3-3-2-0" is a great fill.
- 1.Oasis - Don't Look Back in Anger
- This is my all-time favourite song. It's got amazing guitar solos and deep lyrics. I particularly like how they make it sort of depressing with the chord progression "C G Am E7 F" but then quickly make up with a happier "G C" pattern. This is just an all-around amazing song ith no disappointments.
- These are only 10 of my favourite songs. The list can go on with "Imagine", "Hey Jude", on so on, but I'll just make this quick list now.
