- Crime & Punishment Dostoevsky - the original Columbo. Intrigue, plotting, paranoia. I could not put this down. Best anti-hero ever perhaps??!
- Wuthering Heights Emily Bronte - Often hailed as a love story but I wouldn't want to be any of the characters in this book. More of a love/hate/bitterness/jealousy story! It is beautifully written and is full of passion. Inspired me to go to Haworth (Bronte country) and the Yorkshire Moors which I really love!
- Catcher In The Rye J D Salinger - read when I was angst ridden teen and totally loved it. A book which I remember for making me laugh out loud! Loved how Holden found everyone 'phoney'...
- Silence Of The Lambs/Hannibal Thomas Harris - Better than the films...
- To Kill A Mocking Bird Harper Lee - Better Than the film
- The Picture Of Dorian Grey Oscar Wilde - Beautifully written & very witty
- Reminscences Anna Dostoevsky - Incredibly interesting
- One Day In The Life Of Ivan Denisovich Alexandr Solzhenitsyn - Cold & bleak!
- Rose Madder Stephen King - My favourite King novel. Love the idea of the painting changing, does go a bit crazy but I loved it all the same
- Reading In The Dark Seamus Deane - Totally absorbing & fascinating. Brilliantly written. Great interweaving of fact & fiction.
- Breakfast At Tiffany's Truman Capote - A quirky tale that you can read in about an hour or so..
