Nice Choice with Gary Oldman, he is way too underrated. he's on of the best out there. his performance in True Romance And Leon come to mind, Have you seen them?

Yes, I look forward to seeing his work as Lt. Gordon in Batman Begins.

Oldman never fails to amaze me. His chameleon like ability to transform himself for a role, and strong command of accents deserve respect. Love him as Norman Stansfield, and Drexyl but for an excellent Oldman performance in what I class as a heavily underrated film, check out State Of Grace. As Jackie Flannery he tears up the screen. I also rate him as a director, if you haven't seen Nil By Mouth, check that out too.

Gary Oldman is seriously underrated. Was he ever nominated for an Oscar? I can think of several supporting roles he did which were worthy. His performance in The Professional is freaky but cool. And he, along with kevin bacon's performance, made that Alcatraz movie Murder in The First worthwhile. Bacon, another seriously underrated actor. I'm glad Day-Lewis is on your list also.

It's a crime he's never been nominated for an Academy Award, but ironically he won two BAFTA's on his directorial debut. The Alexander Korda Award For Best British Film, and the Best Original Screenplay Award. His performance as playwright Joe Orton in Stephen Frears 'Prick Up Your Ears' also earned him a BAFTA nomination. Another great performance ignored by Oscar. Sadly Day-Lewis' reluctancy to take more roles is the film worlds loss, but a great asset to the shoe cobbling industry.
