I have to ask, what is the difference between your "favorite films of all time", and the "greatest films of all time"? Do you judge the "greatest films" on less personal criteria, such as originality and historical importance?

You're correct when you ask "Do you judge the "greatest films" on less personal criteria, such as originality and historical importance?" I'd like to be able to have my faves the same as my best list, because that would mean I was able to reconcile the two. Some films, such as "47 Ronin" and "I Am Cuba" are phenomenal technical accomplishments which I would make if I was a director, but they are more examples of "pure cinema" than "great cinema".

I see, thanks.

Alphavillian, I wish you would expand this to 100 films. 20 is obvious while 100 is revealing.
