Author Comments:

1. A little more clever and thoughtful than the Aliens by James Cameron, which was highly entertaining nonetheless. Sigourney at one point is left all alone on the ship to deal with the Alien herself. Little more gutsy and chilling than having a gang of marines around you.

2. Mixes two great genres: the detective story and science fiction. Harrison FOrd gives one of his better performances as Drecker, the Replicant-killing P.I. sent to destroy three rebellious Replicants led by a creepy Rutger Hauer. One movie where Sean Young is rather appealing. Must have been difficult to waste Joanna Cassidy as the replicant-turned-stripper. Lots of fantastic art and set direction.

3. Subtitle: Once Upon a Time In Middle Earth. Peter Jackson pulls out all the stops in this third and ultimate installation based on the quintessential fantasy epic from J.R.R. Tolkien. The battles are glorious, the cast is at its peak, the granduer is at its grandest and most sweeping. My favorite actors to come out of this franchise are still Viggo Mortensen, Sean Bean, and Liv Tyler, although my fav characters are Aragorn and Samwise Gamgee.

4. The final and cataclysmic voyage of the original Star Trek crew. Yes, Shatner still is an overactor, but that's the kind of person you need to play Captain Kirk. Love Christopher Plummer as the eye-patch-wearing, Shakespeare- quoting Klingon who can't wait to meet Kirk in battle. SO glad Nicholas Meyer stepped in to direct again.

5. Nicholas Meyer proved that he was the best director of the Star Trek movies with this movie and Star Trek 6. Both are thrilling and entertaining Outer Space adventures. Ricardo Montalban is like 60 in this movie, but he's still a good wild-eyed stud. The one where Kirk screams, "KHANNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!"

6. Balls-to-the-walls action flick that still uses its special effects awesomeness to hold onto it's Sci-Fi-based premise. Great role for Arnold cause all he has to do is act like an brawling, shotgun-whirling robot on a mission.
