I really like watching musicals, although I won't go out of my way to see one and I don't listen to show tunes. Actually, I like watching happy-ending musicals--you will notice that there is not a lot of Rogers and Hammerstein on my list, nor are there the critically acclaimed musicals such as West Side Story or Phantom of the Opera. In my opinion, most of the happy musicals from the "golden age of musicals" are extremely short on plot and character development, but it is such fun to watch Fred Astaire dance. And Cyd Charisse--no one has been lovelier. If you like musicals, give these a try.
