- Pitseleh - it has the power to move me the way few songs can. i adore every second of it.
- Angeles - the most beautiful hate song ever written.
- Let's Get Lost - i think this is the second elliott song i ever heard. it's simply lovely. "find some beautiful place to get lost". love the guitar, it makes me think of sun streaming down through cracks in the ceiling.
- Between The Bars - "the people you've been before that you don't want around anymore/they push and shove and won't bend to your will/i'll keep them still." one of his best.
- Waltz #2 - a close to perfect song.
- Needle In The Hay - the first elliott song i heard, via the royal tenenbaums. it captivated me. it still does.
- Say Yes - "i'm in love with the world through the eyes of the world through the eyes of a girl who's still around the morning after". a rarely seen optimistic side of elliott.
- Baby Britain - one of catchiest, hardest-rocking songs. almost impossible for me to get sick of.
- Alameda - something about this song. every single time i hear it i hear something different, some new note or complexity that i didn't before. it's a great song.
- I Didn't Understand - a capella. which is awesome.
- St. Ides Heaven - i love the imagery. it's kind of fucked-up but in a good way. it's amazing how beautiful a song could be about being drunk and high on amphetamines in a parking lot.
- King's Crossing - one of his darkest. kind of grungy. very dark, but in an oddly infectious way.
- Everything Reminds Me Of Her - the kind of song you wish somebody would write about you.
- Don't Go Down - kind of catchy, kind of sexy.
- Condor Ave - my favorite song on roman candle. incredible imagery.
- Waltz #1 - "every time the day darkens down and goes away/pictures open in my head of me and you/silent and cliche all the things we did and didn't say/covered up by what we did and didn't do."
- Twilight - absolutely hearbreaking.
- Thirteen - one of my favorite covers, period.
- A Fond Farewell - a good depresso sing-along.
- No Name #2 - my favorite no name, i think. five is a pretty close second though.
- Happiness - "what i used to be will pass away and then you'll see that all i want now is happiness for you and me". the lifesavas did a really rad rap cover of this for "to elliott/from portland"
- Good To Go - soothing, like a lulluby. lush.
- 2:45 A.M. - the only elliott song i can play on guitar. contains a lot of very well-written rhymes, except for the one where he ryhmes "baby" with "baby."
- High Times - this song should've made an album. period.
- No Name No. 5 - second favorite no name.
- Coming Up Roses - another great drug song off the self-titled album, with a really cool music video.
- Pictures Of Me - like a catchy beatles song, only more cynical. "for someone half as smart/you'd be a work of art" "everybody's dying just to get the disease"
- Miss Misery - it gets overplayed, but for a good reason.
- Somebody That I Used To Know - a really great break-up song
- Punch And Judy - "can't you ever treat anyone nice?/ think i'm gonna make the same mistake twice"
- Alphabet Town - haunting. great harmonica.
- The Biggest Lie - "oh we're so very precious you and i/and everything that you do makes me wanna die/oh i just told the biggest lie"
- I Better Be Quiet Now - not the best song you're listening to id you're feeling sad/lonely. it's a heartbreaker. "i've got a long way to go/i'm getting furthur away"
- Coast To Coast - you can hear the influence of the beatles in this. and the influence of hard drugs.
- A Distorted Reality Is Now A Necessity To Be Free - the last song on his last album.
- Roman Candle - intense, rageful, slightly shocking. "i wanna hurt him/i wanna give him pain/i'm a roman candle/my head is full of flames"
- In The Lost And Found (Honky Bach) - different souding. kind of happy and kind of sad. makes you wonder who "angelina" is.
- Christian Brothers - "fake concerns is what's the matter, man/and you think i oughta shake your motherfucking hand"
- Bottle Up And Explode! - like a burst of fresh air.
- Everybody Cares, Everybody Understands - i think he wrote this about being in rehab or a mental hospita, one of the two. i'm pretty sure the title is cynical.
- Bled White - "i may not seem quite right/but i'm not fucked/not quite"
- No Name #1 - perfectly describes the experience feeling awkward and out of place at a social gathering.
- Last Call - dark, almost biblical. "but i'll go to the service/and i'll go to pray/and i'll sing the praises in my maker's name/like i was as good as she made me/and i wanted her to tell me that she would never wake me"
- Memory Lane - simple. great guitar.
- Can't Make A Sound - clever comparision of his depression to a silent movie.
- Southern Belle - angry, escalating. "i don't wanna walk around/i don't even wanna breathe/i live in a southern town/where all you can do is grit your teeth"

this was pretty hard for me to do, i might change it around some.
(i am pretty elliott-centric. obviously.)
i messed-up in the bolding, too, but i'll fix it later when i'm less tired.
