Avg Rating Directors Name (number of films based on)

Ranked according to the Average rating of their movies... only includes Directors with 2 or more films rated...

still a tentative list... as there are still alot of great movies still to rate from these Directors.

Granted this isn't exactly the way I would rank them, but it is damn close and very interesting to see how it all pans out. With only a few slightly misleading averages.

Go to My Favorite Directors And Their Best Films: Sorted By Tier to see the Films I based these rankings on and which ratings are missing from consideration, although, these averages have no bearing on what tier i decide to put them in.

A film that Sergio Leone was said to have admired was Vera Cruz... a 1950s Hollywood western that inspired the style of his spagetti westerns.

never heard that... will have to check it out... leone heresay has turned me on to a lot of my favorite old westerns already. high noon, john ford movies to name a few.

wow, cooper, lancaster, borgnine, bronson, and elam... amazing western cast at least
