Author Comments:
I'm sure there's more games that I should put on this list. It's tough to remember them all.
I should also mention that many of these games exist on multiple system platforms. I've only listed the version under the platform I played it on. But if I did play the same game on two different platforms, then I've only listed the version that I felt was superior.

Ah, Jackal: probably my favorite non-Mario/Zelda NES game!
I am not much of a video gamer, but there was a time in college when I was positively hooked on The Lost Vikings and Rock 'n' Roll Racer!
They both have Olaf. I have no idea if there is a connection there... :)
Shalom, y'all!
L. Bangs
Rock 'n' Roll Racer is a classic
Truth! I'm all about listening to Black Sabbath tunes while racing and exploding my enemies. My favorite tactic was laying down minefields that would decimate someone when they think they have a lock on first place.
i noticed wwf Royal Rumble, did you ever play WWF No Mercy on the n64? in my view that remains the best wwf game yet.
Nope. I never played WWF No Mercy. I think of all the platforms I've played, N64 was probably one of the most short lived. I enjoyed playing it, but I think Sega Dreamcast came out shortly thereafter and the first Playstation was still going strong. I never played a lot of wrestling video games, but WWF Royal Rumble stood out in my mind because I had a lot of fun with it.
Zombies Ate My Neighbors: Great choice! I am in love with that game! It was one of my first real gaming experiences and it has never really left me. I ripped it off the net and is really the only NES ROM I can play over and over again. I know it wasn't ONLY Zombies that ate your neighbors, but this game led the way to my love of the Resident Evil series.
If you have a chance, I'd pop in Resident Evil or Resident Evil 2 and listen to the background music, its truly chilling. Its funny how those two games lose all intensity if you turn it on mute :D
EDIT: It also seems we share a liking of Rise of Nations, its really one of those Great Games that No One Has.
Heh heh. Yeah, Zombies Ate My Neighbors was boatloads of fun playing 2 players with my best friend. Rise of Nations is just an awesome real time strategy game that brought me back to that genre after I finally had enough after StarCraft. RON is just too much fun with 2 players struggling to survive against outnumbering AI opponents.
I wonder if you've checked out Doom 3...and can't find Need For Speed Series!
Yeah, Doom 3 is still on my list to try out. I forgot to put Need For Speed up there, as I've definitely enjoyed it. Good call.
Have you put a custom soundtrack on San Andreas? if so, how does it add to the experience? i have it on ps2, i own a Xbox, and am thinking of forking out the cash just for the custom soundtracks. Is the transfer clear. Thx in advance, Much Appreciated
No, I haven't done anything with custom soundtracks. Personally, I think it would only be worth getting the Xbox version if you were going to trade in your PS2 version. Or you could keep the PS2 version and just blast your stereo. I like to simply use an auxiliary cable to plug my mp3 player into my stereo and I've got instant access to listen to whatever I want from my collection.
baker, I'd still very much like to hear a response from you over here.
Ah, Crash Bandicoot. Good to see that show up! One of my favourites.
