I'm suprised not to see White Light/White Heat on there, given your name.
No doubt a superb list, representative of most of my own favorites. I do recommend digging into Faust's debut, and you may want to give White Light/White Heat a go, if only to fulfill your namesake.
White light/White heat is surely gonna be on the list, I'm in the process of going through my favorite records and placing them in order. I just haven't gotten to that one yet (Expect a list of about 150). Top 30 can be considered pretty steady, though.
Nonetheless, WL/WH as a whole doesn't really strike me as a masterpiece. Only tracks 1 and 6 are true masterpieces if you ask me (6 of course being one of my all time favorites), maybe 5 too, with a little good will (surely one of the wildest tracks of the time). But the other three tracks are just not up to the standard (The gift being the most overrated track by many).
About Faust, that has been, and continues to be, one tough nut to crack for me. Sure, I really dig it and it's definitely gonna make the list, but until now, it never became one of my true favorites. Extremely difficult record (as are the Royal trux and Red crayola records), at least for me.
And now I'm gonna check your lists, guys. :)
Cool. I can't wait to see the additions.
Sorry to have kept you waiting so long (and still). Totally forgot about this website. I'll see if I can update the list some day.
Nice list, my friend! ^O^
Teun?
Yes? :)
haha, a bit late, don't ja think?
how are you guys taking the victories over the Dominican Republic? is baseball big over there, or is it all about Van Nistelrooij or whomever is big now?
the "boiling magma on a disc" is a bit low, no? have you come to your senses or are you just lazy?
Just lazy. ;) To tell you the truth, baseball is definitely NOT big over here. You gave me the news. It's great that they've beaten such a big team. Who are they playing now?
nice list! mind telling me what "dirty three - ocean songs" is about?
Ocean Songs is a set of instrumental tracks (violin, guitar, drums) dedicated to the Ocean (No shit!). It's one of the most beautiful albums I've ever heard.
"It's one of the most beautiful albums I've ever heard.
Seconded; it's exquisite.
