Haven't heard the Deftones album, and feel a bit ambivalent ablut the Icelandic Wonder, Bjork, but otherwise some strong choices. I like your use of the plural on the phrase "CD players"; seems to indicate a true music fan...

i'll probably post the "in my CD players" list periodically. i'll also date them; i think it'll be interesting to see how my listening habits change.
you know how i feel about bjork, and i think you'll end up liking at least some of her stuff. the deftones might be a bit too heavy for your taste, but as far as heavy music goes, it's really good. i can't say that about many hard rock bands. actually, it seems that the "harder" the band gets the greater the change is that they will suck. do you agree? i'm not sure if thats a "law of rock n roll," but i think it's a good theory. (needs testing).

I understand how you would advance your harder they rock/greater they suck theory, but for every heavy band that sucks, there are also middle of the road bands that suck (Matchbox, Vertical Horizon), and soft rock bands that suck (Savage Garden). Seems that any given rock band has a 90% chance of sucking hard core. And lets not even get started on pop or country...

point taken. now that i think about it, that theory sucks. oh well...
