Wow, almost four years ago I wrote that (back when I was underlining rather than italicizing :-)! Yeah, I did like the The Cable Guy, and certainly agree that it was underrated. Carrey was punished for taking his fans out of familiar territory, I think.
I agree that Truman Show is a better movie to display Carey's all around talent as an actor. I think Oliver Stone is an incredible director, but I don't agree that NBK is a must see movie. Most people see movies to escape, NBK is no escape from daily problems. I, on the other hand, like violent, nasty movies. However, I found every character that lives more than 5 seconds dispicable, and I could not identify with one character. In actuality, Woody Harrelson's character probably portrays more humanistic characteristics than anyone else, and he actually commits the majority of the murders. I did notice a lot of parents taking their 5 year olds to see this movie, I'm not kidding. Maybe it is a must-see movie?
The last two just don't fit into the picture somehow... :)
Personal favorites or what?
Actually i thought Jim Carrey deserved some credit for his talent!
Yeah, but how 'bout The Truman Show or The Cable Guy instead? :)
Hey, Jim! Were you a fan of The Cable Guy? I think it's an incredibly under-rated movie.

How can you put "The Mask" on your list and not "Shawshank Redemption"
