This includes things on the other floors, my floor, and from my roommate. It does not include what I am playing. Oh, but if someone else plays the same thing as me (ex. Dylan), I'll include it.

Billy Joel? That's what I was hearing in my dorm in 1979. In fact, dear readers, I once lit a copy of Piano Man on fire in front of the dorm. I was an angry young man (ha!) who was sick and tired of hearing Piano Man played at every party, what with all the swaying back and forth, etc.
At the time, The Ramones and The Clash were more my speed, even though deep inside I really liked Billy Joel.
I love Piano Man, but I imagine that would get annoying.
And I've also just discovered the Clash's London Calling, and I love it.
Avril?!
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Yep. My reaction, too.
I mean...who listens to that? I mean...argh!
I thought people in college were supposed to be...not like that! Rar!
Stupid, frustrated teenage rant...over.
It's nice to see some things never change - Jimmy Buffett rules the dorms. Because the fun of "Why Don't We Get Drunk and Screw" never lessens for students. Or "Margaritaville." Or anything with a getting drunk theme.
I would have the the Doors were still popular though. No? They Might Be Giants? Meatloaf? King Missile? Queen? Those were all mainstays in '91. And some of them probably in '81. Te Doors, '71. My mother reminisced about playing the Doors in her dorm in '68 when she heard me put them on.
I think I'm getting nostalgic. Well, starting my grad school classes this week should kill that.
Actually, I haven't heard anyone but me playing They Might Be Giants.
Now that you mention it, I do remember hearing "I'd Do Anything For Love" the other day, though. I'll add that to my list.
As for everything else, I haven't heard it yet. I've only been here for 2 weeks, though. People just recently started playing their music loudly, and I'm sure there will be a lot to add to this soon!
Good luck in grad school. Can I ask where you're studying?
I'm at Queens College, for my Master's in Library Science.
More importantly... what "else" can you hear with your super spy microphones. lol
