I've been trying desperatly to get people involved in listening to Guided By Voices and Butterglory. If you feel like it search these bands out. They are deeply original and powerful, not as in loud necessarily, but musically and lyrically. I've heard the new U2 CD and it is real amazing.
hey, i know Guided By Voices. they're from Dayton, Ohio if I recall correctly. i actually met a guy who toured with them as their bassist. Greg, I think?
i'll put ButterGlory on my list. there's always tons of good stuff to hear. it just takes me awhile to get around to it. but i'm hooking up my DSL modem up in the next day or so :-)
Greg Demos is the old bass player for GBV. I would die to meet him. I worsgip GBV. There is also a new band out called Placebo. They are really good man. If you havent heard them you should check them out!
Demos! That's it. Yeah, if I recall correctly he played with them around them time they played Lollapalooza second stage. I think initially he was just touring with them but he might have played on an album after that. He was friends with a boyfriend (at the time) of my roommate (at the time). BTW, I'm a guy.
Hey, Jeff, et.al.! Did anyone download this album except me? I've only listened once. It sound pretty good to me. I was a little distracted (doing internet stuff) but will definitely give it more ear-time.
I heard it the other day and it sounds great. One of the major things I noticed was that the sound was much clearer and crisper. I've only heard it once also, defintely gotta give it a couple more listens before I can pass judgement, but so far I really like it.
Well, I did live in Ohio until February 13th. Now I live in Ft. Myers Beach, Florida. I need to get my name on the mailing lists of some good bands and see if anyone comes through this area.
While I wouldn't start with Films for Radio, Over the Rhine is certainly worth checking out. My advice would be to start with their first album and start working down, so in three albums, you'll have Til We Have Faces, Patience, and Eve.
Somewhere in my apartment, I have a killer T-shirt from the Patience tour. Yummy stuff!

I'm pretty sure GBV has a new album coming out in a couple weeks

Yes, I've heard of Placebo before, too.

GBV comes to Columbus quite a bit!
GBV is coming to Dallas April 13th. Thats the closest they will come to me. I'll be there though, you can count on it.
Here's a Concert Schedule for Guided by Voices I got off of Pollstar. I told you they go to Columbus!
Hmmm... You do know that they played here in Tulsa last year, don't you?
Shocked me, to be honest, and I didn't even get to make the show...
Shalom, y'all!

What's the deal with Tim Buckley cds? I can't find any of his work anywhere.
Are you talking about online, offline or both?
