- (03/14/07 Theater) 300 - Probably one of the best examples of style over substance I've ever seen. Speaking of the style, it was absolutely incredible. But the depth was missing due to lack of character development and plot execution. Still a fairly satisfying movie overall, though obviously if you have issues with graphic violence stay far far away. [79]

- (01/14/07 Theater) Dreamgirls - I dig musicals more than most guys, (Singin'In the Rain ranks in my top 3 movies of all time) and Dreamgirls has the advantage of being a musical about, get this, music. Because of this the singing doesn't feel quite as forced and flows nicely within the plot. However, overall this is a C+ movie with an A+ performance. That performance being of course Jennifer Hudson as Effie. Astonishing throughout, her show stealing performance of "I won't go" is worth the price of admission by itself. [88]
