Not really surprising that this was as good as it was good based on all of the great reviews that I had heard, but at the same time very surprising that it was good at all when you think about how terrible it could have been.
  58. Strawberry & Chocolate : ***
Very enjoyable. Can't really think of what else to say.
  59. March
  60. Sunshine State : ***
I enjoyed this one but definitely nothing really spectacular here.
  61. My Life Without Me : ****
I really loved this film, okay maybe it was a little depressing but I thought it felt very real and was quite impressed with the whole thing.
  62. Spellbound : ***
Enjoyable enough but I am still waiting for a Hitchcock film to really really impress me.
  63. House of Flying Daggers : ***
This was a bit of a disappointment as I expect better from Zhang Yimou, but not much of a surprise after all the mixed reviews I had heard. I certainly enjoyed the film but there was definitely something lacking to this one that can be found in all of Zhang Yimou other movies (that I have seen anyway).
  64. February
  65. Great Expectations : ***1/2
I enjoyed this just as much the second time around.
  66. Frantic :**1/2
This one didn't really hold up to my memory of the film. I always remembered it as a movie that I really enjoyed, but now I would have to say that it was just average. One of the dangers of rewatching things I guess sometimes they just don't live up to your memory.
  67. Toy Story : ****1/2
Rewatched Pixar's original and yes it is still an amazing film.
  68. Stage Beauty :***1/2
Not bad, I have quite enjoyed Billy Crudup in everything I have seen him do thus far and this time was no exception, the rest of the actors did a fine job as well. I think the

death scene near the end of the film
    was especially well done.
  69. January
  70. Notorious :***1/2
I am still relatively inexperienced in Hitchcock's films having only seen Rebecca, but I did enjoy this one much more and I do intend to make up for some notable Hitchcock films that are missing from my movie viewing log.
  71. Garden State :****1/2
    I still love this movie.
  72. Solaris :**1/2
Not the greatest science fiction movie I have ever seen, but I enjoyed it enough to still want to see the original. Hopeful I will like it more as I have heard that it is better.
  73. The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe : ***
This has probably got to be my worst ever theatre experience. The people who ended up sitting beside came a little late (the previews had definitely started, the main feature not quite) which would have been perfectly fine if they hadn't been so loud about it. But then they continued to talk quietly to each other for the start of the movie (again not so bad if I hadn't been right beside them). Then about a third of the way into the movie (maybe less) the one sitting beside me fell asleep for the entire rest of the movie, and I wouldn't say that he was snoring but he was definitely breathing very heavy, to the point that the person sitting in front of him started trying to poke him awake just passed the halfway point. Then at the end of the film we discovered that someone at some point (I blame the sleeper though I have no proof) spilt their pop, so our feet had been soaking in a sticky mess for some unknown amount of time. All that aside I did enjoy the film, even if it didn't live up to my fond childhood memories of the book. Of course my constant gripe about almost all things CS Lewis is why The Loin , the Witch and the Wardrobe always trumps The Magician's Nephew. I always enjoyed the first book of the series and it is a minor pet peeve of mine that it consistently gets ignored.
  74. The Chronicles of Riddick : ***1/2
A very pleasant surprise. I chose to watch this one against my better judgement due to my enjoyment of Pitch Black, but I wasn't really expecting too much due to the mostly mediocre to bad reviews I heard. I am glad my uncommon sense prevailed because though not the most mesmerizing cinema out there, I thoroughly enjoyed this one. Maybe not quite equal to Pitch Black but very close.
  75. Lost in Translation : ****
My second time watching this drops my admiration just a little bit (if I had been rating movies the first time I saw it I probably would have given it 4 and a half stars) but it is still a wonderful film and one of my favourites. I think I really do need to see Mystic River to someday to find out how Bill Murray could have possibly lost the oscar for this.
  76. The Passion of the Christ :***1/2
I enjoyed this movie quite a bit, but it did make me wonder how much more (or less) I would have liked it knowing the whole story of the crucifixion much better then I currently do. Having never read the Bible (I did start once but didn't get past Genesis) I have know idea how closely Mel kept to the scriptures. One thing that did bug me was I had no clue who the man and woman following Jesus around, with Mary were. I suppose their identities are not really that important to the overall story but the fact that I had no clue who they were nagged at me the whole time I was watching.
  77. Birth : **
Not nearly as good as I was hoping for, I found the whole thing just a bit boring.

Cloned From:

Mystic River is an excellent film, but seeing it still won't explain how Bill Murray lost to Sean Penn for Best Actor. If you ask me, he outacts every person in that movie...in fact, come to think of it, with his performance in Lost in Translation, Murray outacts most people in most movies.

I think the people you're talking about are Mary Magdelene and the Apostle John.

Thanks, were they really never named in the movie or did I just miss that part?

No, I do not recall their names being used in the movie. You'd have to be familiar with the story to recognize them. I'm sure many Christians didn't.
