Movies I've Seen Lately In Theaters

- The Last Samurai- Good epic here placed in Japan. Contains one of my new favorite action scenes with the ninjas. Did not really liek the comparisons between the Native Americans and the Samurai. The Samurai cast I thought was the highlight of the movie, Cruise brings the movie down, but not enough for it to be bad.B+
- The Missing- Pretty good old western here with some good preformaces by Tommy Lee, the bad guy(don't knwo his name), and most suprisingly the younger daughter.sure its not perfect, but worth the four bucks i did not pay for it. B
- Gothika- What a load of pure crap, there are so many problems with this movie that I don't even feel like typing them. At least they could have thrown in a Halley nude scene to spice up a stupid plot.BLAh!F
- Master and Commander- Didn't think I would like this one, man was I wrong. Besides Crow, who was pretty good, the role players int his film is what did it for me. The minor characters were all played very well with even a hobbit in there. The ship was pretty damn cool to look at as well.A-
- Elf- Good fun Christmas movie. Ferell is extremley funny, and the movie does not try to accomplish too much. SOme jokes did not work to well but still good.B
- Matrix Revolutions- Going into this I was looking for two things. One being that it was better than Reloaded, and second that it ended the trilogy fairly well. It was surely better than Reloaded, and the ending was alright. Some great fights here, and some stiff acting and bad dialogue. If you throw out all the wooden acting then its prety good, I was satisfied when I walked out of the theater. B+.
- Lost in Translation- I thought this movie very beautifuly shot and pretty funny as well. The shots of Tokyo are breathtaking and never really got old to me. The characters are pretty well rounded and Murry's character reminded me a lot of my father. B+
- Kill Bill Vol. 1b- I enjoyed this movie very much and thought it to be a very well shot movie. The characters were alright, they did not devlop that much. But the extreme gore which is very comical throughout the movie is the trademark here. The dialogue is not Tarintinos best but overall a good flick with a Kick-Ass soundtrack. My favorite part of the whole movie was the anime chapter, cool. B+
- School of Rock This was an entertaining movie, but thats as far as it got. Sure maybe if I was 6 years younger this movie would appeal to me, but Jack Black was the only aspect of the film that I enjoyed. C+
- Runaway Jury While entertaining at times I thought overall this was a mediocre movie at best.I did not like John Cusack's or Dustins's roles, the only bright spot in the film was Gene Hackman because he seemed liek the only true to life character.C-
- Mystic River The best I have seen so far this year. Let me say that I don't like Sean Penn too much, but I thought he was pretty good in this film. Bacon and Fishburne(sp) are good as the cops and Tim Robbins does a good job as the abused kid who has his problems. Good story with good preformences equals one good movie.A
- Intolerable Cruelty Very entertaining and funny. Big stars featured here, but they are not in their typecast roles. Billy Bob is so darn funny in almost anyhting he does. My man Cedric has a small role here that kicks my socks off. I mean it is nothing spectacular, but what is these days?B+

Isn't it interesting how you liked a movie b/c of the slapstick use of gore? Kill Bill is easily QT's worst in my opinion, I'd give it 2 out of 4 stars at best, its a fun movie for those with a strong stomach, the plot is full of holes, the movie jumps all over the place, and the editing is awful.
You thought the editing was bad? I thought the editing was one of the best parts of hte movie
You should rent City of Ghosts
Also The Last Samurai comes out today.
Saw the Last Samurai last night. Thought it was really good, but several other actors would have been a better fit than Cruise. But I can wish in one hand and crap in the other...
