Well this year I'm probably not going to be able to devote as much time to film, compared to last year, due to a changing schedule. I'll probably have to do most of my viewing on weekends and holidays.

I average about 3-4 each day after work and 7-9 on the weekends. I am a huge classics fan and those films clock in at 70-90 minutes at the most. Also, being single helps. :) I've loved films from an early age and I watch as much as I can, and occasionally I do get to see the sun! :) ha!ha!ha!

What I mean is practically, how do you actually fit all of those in any particular day? I am a student, but still because of life generally only have time for a maximum of two, unless I'm on vacation, so I'm curious to know how you get so many in. One day, you watched 18 hours of movies, which leaves you with... 6 hours to sleep, or eat, or whatever (albeit those seem to be extreme days).

I've always imagined that staup has an entire maid service at his disposal. One sits by his bed and the moment he wakes up, she turns on the TV, kicking off the heavily programmed day.

As he moves from the bed to the bathroom, the maid follows just in front with the screen. While he shaves, brushes his teeth, etc., the maid stands just behind him, so that he can watch the movie while looking in the mirror.

As he moves through the house, the maid, with the screen on her back, walks just in front of him. As he enters other rooms, the maids in those rooms turn on the TVs there, as there are, of course, TVs in every room. All TVs receive their feed from some central computer, likely running MythTV along with other server functionality so that he can receive the feed from other places (such as his car and work).

As he gets into his car every morning, house nurse duties are moved over to checking the daily programming and making sure every movie is being recorded and crosschecking that with a database of everything staup has seen and everything they already have recorded, so as to not create duplicates. Meanwhile, staup happily continues watching a movie in the back of his car while a maid drives him to work.

At work, staup does very little work, pretending to type up TPS reports as he watches a movie on his monitor. His worker maid does his work adequately, so that he doesn't get fired or draw much attention to himself.

Meals are also delivered by the maid service. And often during great movies, provide bedpan service, thus limiting the need to move around much. However, he does get his occasional jogging done in the evening, when he has a large LCD screen strapped on a maid (this is only done in the evening, because sun glare may pose a problem during the day).

The rest of the neighbourhood have gotten used to it, but he's still banned from all the pools in town because of that time he almost electrocuted everyone trying to get a TV in the pool.

That's the way I see it, but I may be projecting a little of my fantasies.

I see. Well, I do work from home sometimes, vacation days and/or weekends probably account for those "extreme" days. Again, the length of classic films are only 60-80, so I can fit several into a day. Movies are my passion, enjoyment and coupled with the fact that I only sleep 5-6 hours also account for the amount of viewing time. I make an effort to see films and sometimes it does consume my whole day, but I'm not complaining, it's what I enjoy. Hey, there's always 'hinterlands' take on my usual day. :)

Heh, nah I have a dvd collection of about 4300 and I use my Tivo daily on TCM, Sundance, IFC and Fox Movie Channel. I just enjoy movies and 'almost' every spare minute is devoted to them. ;)

Right now I have a lot of free time but my attention span keeps me from watching more movies than I do. It drives my husband crazy that I like to hold an "intermission" during a 2-hour movie.

The most i've ever watched in a day is 10 movies, but some of them were classics which ran about 70 minutes long. I haven't had as much time as I did last year. I have really been focusing on seeing more films at the theater, it helps on my DVD purchases, instead of getting burned with "blind" buying.

It drives me crazy when my wife does that, too. Doesn't happen as much now that our kitchen is directly connected to the living room, but still...

As for Staup2005, I don't know how he does it. I certainly admire his stamina. On a typical work day I barely have the energy to watch a single movie, much less two (or ten!). Of course, if I wasn't married and worked from home, god knows how many I'd watch. :-)

Though it was a departure from the typical look of Bond, I truly believe Daniel Craig pulled off the role of 007! I did like how they infused this installment with more "adult" humor than usual. Also, I'm not sure if it was just me, but typically the films focus on the sexuality of the Bond Girl, but James himself seemed like the object of desire. Also, if anything Craig fleshed out Bond more than any other actor in the role, he gave him a soul. It was enjoyable all the way around.

I was wondering do you know how many movies you have seen in your lifetime so far? Not how many different ones as I am sure there are many favorites seen a great number of times. This brings me to the thought which movies have you seen the most and how many times. The world record for movies seen is held by Gwilym Hughes from Wales at over 25000 in Jan. of 2007. Always so interesting to see the titles of movies you enjoy each day. Do you remember the very first movie you ever saw as a kid? Hope you don't mind the questions.
