It's an excellent book, though there are a few surprising absentees like Takeshi Kitano and they could have dispensed with a few minor ones by Hitchcock to make room for under-represented directors like Rohmer and the great Mizoguchi. If you liked Seven Samurai (or Rashomon), try Sansho the Bailiff, the other outstanding Japanese masterpiece from 1954; it's a moving, beautiful drama rather than action adventure. And from 1953, Tokyo Story and Ugetsu Monogatari.
