(Out of 5 Stars)
Anchorman:The Legend of Ron Burgundy *****
Pieces Of April *****
Silence Of The Lambs *****
The Panic In Needle Park I'm not going to give this a rating. i was very Disappointed, not by pacinos performance at all. he was great in the movie. but it was just to depressive for me, it was the intensity of Taxi Driver times by 10, i didn't like it. but i'll have to watch again in a few months time
The Game ***
Sexy Beast *****
Five Easy Pieces **** 1/2
Adaptation. *****
Reality Bites ***** (very impressed, very well acted, very cool)
Annie Hall ***** (Amazing, i saw alot of myself in Woody's character)
Godsend *** 1/2
Zero Effect **** 1/2
Garden State ****
Eternal Snushine Of The Spotless Mind *****
Top 5 Most Wanted

3.Panic Room
4.Gerry
5.Envy

I have to see Godfather part III also. If I do soon I will tell you what i think!
cool, thx!
ditto if i see it first i'll tell you also!
Re: Godfather Part III: You think you do now, but trust me, you don't want to see Sophia Copolla prove that direction was the right choice.
T'ho
:?)
now everyone keeps saying how bad GodfatherIII is.
I'm begining to fear even thinking about watching it! (maybe thats over the top..i just dont know lol)
Just forget all about Godfathers I & II and you'll be fine. It's really not a bad movie at all, it just sports a pretty poor performance by Sofie.
Then listen to the commentary as Francis plays proud papa and gushes over his little girl. "She's so wonderful, so natural." How can I tell him how bad she was after that?
Oh, btw, skip The Game. It's the only time I ever left the theater really, really angry.
thx for the advice mate, i'll make sure all memories of the previous masterpieces are out of my mind before viewing :)
really you left the cinema on "The Game" damn..now i'm worried about it :() lol. looks like i'll give that a miss then
Oh, to have a list that short :-)
You're lucky.
What about Envy makes you want to see it?
Envy:
well its because i liked Dodgeball, and the idea of stiller and jack black in the same movie is great. but its been getting horrible reviews but that ok, i'll watch it anyway.
well, just as long as you don't make me watch it.
Dude, horrible doesn't begin to describe it. The reviews are abysmal. I haven't seen it, but I doubt it will be worth your time, unlike some of the other really wonderful movies on this list (such as Casablanca, Harold and Maude, Chinatown, Annie Hall, etc.)
thats true maybe it is a waste and thankyou for your comments but i think because i'm a fan of jack black's films, im gonna have to give it a go.
(wish me luck)
GO SEE SAW
SAW IS NUTS
Anyway, I just watched Godfather III Rushmore, and its not very good. Well, I guess its alright in some respects, but in others its very frustating and disappointing. It is irritatingly vague at times, and often feels like that GRowing Pains reunion movie, with how its a big nostalgia trip lotsof the time. Also, I didn't believe Sofia Coppoloa could be that bad, but damn....you're right. She sucked. But it does have some redeeming qualities, so its not all bad.
cool thanks for getting back too me on this, glad you..well semi-liked it? yeah alot of people say that Sofia Coppoloa, is really bad in the movie. i'm still ggoing too see it but thx for the warnning in advance L:)
bb take care
Good list! Just my opinion on a few films (out of 4 stars):
Casablanca: ****
Harold and Maude: ***
Chinatown: ***
Scent of a Woman: ***
Face/Off: **
Saving Private Ryan: ***
American Beauty: ***1/2
Panic Room: **1/2
The Wicker Man is really a movie I'd like to see. (Because of Christopher Lee, of course!)
What was Annie Hall like?
Annie Hall: Was Very Very Good. i watched it last night from 1:40am t00 3:20 am! i love films that show real people dealing with real things and this was great for that. Woody allen was great as this very negative, nervous person. at tmies you feel like woody allen and the character Annie Hall (not at the beginning) dont want to be with eachother but can't break it to the other person, which with use of hearing their thoughts adds some great comedy! i loved it, i saw alot of myself in woody allen's character (but not as Negative) :)
Have you seen it?
No, I haven't yet seen. That's why I asked.
ah i see :)
Have you seen Lawrence of Arabia?
No, Never Seen it. I'll put it on the list, its your favourite movie right?
Yes. It tops every other movie I have seen. Mesmerizing actors (O'Toole, Guinness, Sharif, Quinn, Hawkins, etc.), an excellent screenplay, the best score (by Maurice Jarre) ever and a gifted director. This film has got everything a movie needs. Even though the film has a runtime of nearly 4 hours, these were the shortest and most amazing 4 hours of my life.
I could go on praising this masterpiece for hours and hours, but I think I'll stop now. :)
Forget Citizen Kane or The Godfather, this film is much more than just a movie. It is an experience.
I'm hurt to see that you have crap like Garden State ranked over Life Aquatica... not that i'd have life aquatica number 1... i just expect it from you.
this isn't a list of favourite movies, the numbers are just there, i can get rid of them, it would make no difference. its just a list of movies i Want too see, i haven't seen any of them. (apart from the ones in the red line).
if your talking about the Most wanted list below, well i have a few deffences there.
1) i haven't Seen Garden State, so i have no idea its "Crap", its just the one i want too see the most.
2) NONE of the movies are ranked above anyother, they are sorted by year, so i could track and change them with ease when i needed too.
3) You know i love wes anderson movies, alot, but i felt that i want too see garden state more, i don't know why i just do.
i see... i was talking about the top 5 thing... and i haven't seen garden state either... i try and stay away from crap... anyhow all understandable.
btw, is it just me or do you happen to think Life Aquatica won't live up to Wes Andersons other works... just doesn't look that good to be completely honest.
hhhmm maybe not sure, i saw the trailer and it looked pretty funny. it seems alot alot different from his others but still looks good. i'm not sure, i hope its as good, ithink it will be.
Rushmore, I have actually seen Garden State and I thought it was an often wonderful movie, albeit with a pretty trite ending. But since you like sweet movies with a quirky sense of humor, and you like Zach Braff, I think you will really like Garden State.
cool, thx. i do really like the look of it, i saw a preview, a 1 1/2 minute clip, it looked great! your right i do love those sorts of movies, i won't be suprised if ti makes it too my top10 favourite movies.
I saw garden state... and i must apoligize for saying it was crap... it really is an amazing movie... the best of the year as far as i'm concerned... i need to stop bashing movies before i see em... first the Indiana Jones movies and now this.
yeah Garden State is Amazing. i love the scene where the guy fires that burning arrow in the air, and they run like crazy too dodge it, class!
One of the Best of the year for sure.
