All of these movies contain a lot of R- or NC-17- rated material that caused my parents to not allow me to see them previously. Most are considered good or great movies. Some I'm just thinking about seeing because of the pure camp value, which I've indicated on the list.

Suggestions for great movies containing a lot of drugs, sex, nudity, violence, profanity, adult situations, or anything else that makes a movie rating high up on the charts, are welcome. I'm going to enjoy my liberation.

You should add Resevoir Dogs to your list to see, its a good bloddy movie to see.

Good suggestion, but I've actually already seen that movie. Don't know how I slipped that one by the folks.

From your list, I have seen:
"A Clockwork Orange" - reccommended (read the book too)
"Midnight Cowboy" - very well done, but leaves you feeling dirty
"Porky's" - a classic, not as good as I thought it'd be, but the best scene is when the lady gym teacher is talking about trying to catch the boys who were looking in the girls' shower room
"Pulp Fiction" - great movie, maybe not plot wise, but great dialogue and well done
"The Shawshank Redemption" - isn't this rated PG-13? great movie anyhow
"Y Tu Mama Tambien" - incredible, strongly reccommended

Cheers.

"The Shawshank Redemption" is definitely rated R. My dad has always forbidden me to see it due to the prison violence and whatnot.

Have you turned 17 yet, AJ?

Not quite. I turn 17 on December 9th, so that's, what, one month and 11 days? I'll be sure to notify the Listology community as soon as I do.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Thank you!

Holy jeepers, time flies! Happy birthday, AJ!

My, you have some films ahead of you (along with, of course, the rest of your life)!

While lacking in drugs, violence, and sex, you really should consider adding Amateur here. It's on DVD now, ya know...

Congrats!

Shalom, y'all!

Thank you, lbangs!

I certainly haven't forgotten about "Amateur." The film might be too artsy / obscure for Blockbuster, but I definitely plan to get my hands on that DVD somehow.

Despite my desire to see the movie, I don't think it'd really fit here, mostly because, as you said, it's lacking in drugs, violence, and sex, and this list was reserved for the most risque movies that I had been forbidden to see, especially the ones my parents have vetoed multiple times. But don't think that its absence from this list means I have forgotten about "Amateur."

P.S. Just to let you know - I predict a prominence of Dylan in future birthday presents.

Yeah, Amateur doesn't fit the list, but I wanted to make sure it hadn't slipped your mind. Of course, the way I go on about it, it probably won't leave most Listologists minds, no matter how hard they try to knock it out...

Dylan? Very nice. I'm going to shoot you an email about that tonight.

Enjoy your birthday!

Shalom, y'all!

Yeah, Happy Birthday AJ! Sorry I'm a day late, but it seems like I've been that and a dollar short since Thanksgiving or so. :-)

As for ways of living up your liberation, I can't remember if you've seen these, but how 'bout some Peckinpah? The Wild Bunch and Straw Dogs leap to mind.

I actually already got "The Wild Bunch" approved, but "Straw Dogs" would be a good choice. Thanks!

Happy Birthday, AJ. The site wouldn't be the same without you.

Happy belated birthday!
