some of these are films that have been raised to "classic" or "cult" status and while i might understand some of the reasons for that--i couldn't fully appreciate them.

others i saw because i liked an actor in them and had to watch the whole thing to figure out what the heck they were thinking...

Well Taryn, I hope that the enduring paid off on the last eight movies on your list. They are brilliant.

I can see why people would like it, but I endured Gone with the Wind just to say I saw it. It was just sooooo long! This also happened with Giant, a great movie for the first 3/4 of the film, and then it flashed forward to the kids having grown up. I had to endure that sentimental, boring ending...

Johnny Waco

i can totally see where Gone with the Wind would be on this list for alot of people. i think i just saw it too young to really care how long it was... don't think i could sit through it now though!

Silence of Lambs...I endured that one for a film study class...I had read the book a decade before and had to not only put it down several times but actually hide the book somewhere I could not see it...my imagination is way to out of control! As for Eraserhead well my companion fell asleep but not before drawing the attention of everyone in the theatre during the chicken on the table scene...I thought we would be arrested and thrown in jail for sure.

you dont like 'Goodfellas'?
