I always thought there could be a good horror film based around the symbiotic relationship between a protagonist and his tapeworm. I guess I'll have to write the screenplay for that one myself.
Hop into your time machine and send your screenplay to the early David Cronenberg; sounds like his style :-)
It sure does, doesn't it? :-)

Now that's a giant sandworm.
Return Of The Jedi! Luke almost becomes a snack for the big fellah. :?)

You had me going for a moment. I was on the verge of glee at the thought of an addition to this list, which I consider one of my most important (do I need to put a smiley face here?). But now I'm not absolutely sure that you're completely right. I forget what they call the thing in the movie. It certainly has the mouth of a giant carnivorous sand worm, but it was immobile. I'll have to look further into this - unless you have more info. that'll convince me.
Oh, that hurts, it is immobile and it's basically just teeth, but I'm thinking there's a wormy thing under there. Although I can't prove it...drat, foiled by bad memory again. But Odysseus has got a big "willie lookin' bad boy" with picture. I'm getting mileage out of this.

The thing is called The Sarlac, and even though it lives in the Dune Desert on Tatooine it doesn't seem to be a worm exactly. It lives in a pit, it has tentacles, and very slow digestion (1000 years to digest a humanoid). However, it was pretty clearly inspired by the giant sandworms of Arrakis, I would say. But it had to be something immobile for the purposes of the escape scene in ROTJ. Hmm, sort of a borderline case.
Wow, thanks for letting that one slide, B.

...and then there's "Episode V"s willie flashing asteroid belt.
too true, that one really does look like a "willie". I'm not sure I feel right typing this.

Umm, that would be a rockwillie, not a sandworm.
