- Here are some great films to put on after a long night to help you slip fitlessly into a gentle sleep (in no particular order). Note: For Foreign Films it helps to turn the subtitles off. I'm also looking for some heavy commenting here, so don't be afraid.
- Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (Special Extended Edition Disc 1)
- Spirited Away
- The Thin Red Line
- Gattaca
- Back to the Future Part II
- Koyaanisquatsi
- Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon
- Amelie

So does this mean you find these movies dull, or strangely soothing?
irrepressibly soothing, actually.
Funny, I've never really fallen asleep to movies (well, except for bad ones, unintentionally). I used to fall asleep to music when I was in college though, to drown out the noise of the dorm. Strangely enough, "Back in Black" was my album of choice for falling asleep.
I've never fallen asleep to a movie, except when I've been on bus / plane rides and they're playing a movie that I'm not really paying attention. On the other hand, I don't think that my father has ever NOT fallen asleep to a movie since he turned... oh, I'd say 30.
I can fall asleep to any music though - Pavement, Led Zeppelin, the Velvet Underground (and Nico), the Pixies... Hmm, I've never tried falling asleep to Frank Zappa's We're Only In It For the Money. Maybe I should try that one. I bet I could do it.
